Hazel Braithwaite is a part of the City of Red Deer’s Ghost
Collection which contains icons of the city’s past. It is
rare to see women as the subject of public sculpture representing
themselves not simply as a support for wings or mermaid tails. In
approaching the whole notion of ghosts through memory, I have had
to deal with how I remember people now gone as well as how we collectively
remember through art.
