A totally over-the-top vision of a classic western Canadian subject. This fantasy was the result of a tour of ancient Egyptian ruins put on by the Alberta College of Art. The broken old sculptures I saw in Egypt showed very little movement and there was a real power in their restraint that I think influences me even today.
